I have old dark hardwood floors that never looked clean by sweeping them with a broom or using a dusting mop. This floor brush works beautifully. The brushes pick up all the fine dust left on the floor by the previous methods and the floor is left very clean. You have to vacuum off the lint and dust that collects on the brushes frequently but that just means it is doing a great job.

I am very happy with the floor brush. The brush glides with ease on my hardwood floors. The brushes are very gentle on the floor too. The attachment fits well on my Kirby vacuum.

Limited pivot motion compared to others, 2011-01-09

This accessory is OK, but it only pivots left and right and not up and down. That means that if you lift up or push down on your rigid vacuum tube, this head will no longer be flat with the floor, and it will lose suction. The Miele is much better. The Miele has a double joint that allows it to rotate and pivot in more than one direction. It will pivot both up and down as well as left and right. The Miele is wider. The Miele doesn't have any wheels that might scratch wood, and has very firm horse hair around the entire edge. The Miele might cost more, but if you vacuum every week you'll be glad you spent the extra money for a higher quality product that can pivot far more easily as you vacuum. I purchased the Miele through Amazon, see the link belowMiele SBB400-3 XL Parquet Twister Floor ToolOne warning -- Miele appears to use a European or metric connection. I know, because it fits perfectly on the tube for the German Fein shop vac, and 1.25" American accessories don't fit the Fein. So if you are putting this on a standard American vacuum, call Miele or do some research on the internet, and find out whether it will fit or what adapter you might need. If you have a European vacuum that doesn't use the 1.25 connection, then you are good to go.I did connect the Miele to what should be a standard 1.25 American tube on an old Hoover. I use this with my dyson vacuum to clean my hardwood floors, and have been quite pleased with it's performance. Sure, it doesn't swivel very well on it's own...but it was $10. It has shorter sections of bristles intermittently spaced around the brush, so it doesn't just push debris around. It works perfectly with my vacuum, and i would definitely recommend it (especially if you're a tightwad like me and don't want to spend $60 on a vacuum brush!)

Purchased this to replace the floor attachment that came with my Kenmore vacuum. This floor brucsh is almost 3 times wider, has much fuller brushes and wheels. It definately covers more area, more quickly. My only reservation is that it does not have a hole in the neck to accept the spring-loaded button that held the original attachment in place. However, this replacement brush didn't come loose. I guess if it ever starts to come loose, I can always drill a small hole in the neck to accept the button. I also didn't have any trouble with its fixed vertical angle (the original attachment was also fixed). I highly recommend and would buy one for each all of my canister vaccuums, especially at the $14 price. Enjoy.

Great Improvement over Kirby Attachment, 2010-09-19

My wife hated the original Kirby attachment that this one replaced. The old one didn't have wheels and the bristles would come out all the time. This new one is much better. This brush eliminates the angle attachment as well (both are in the trash now). An added feature is that by rotating the handle, the brush will turn and get into corners and such.

Purchased this to use with a Dyson DC07 that has plagued me with scratches on my flooring. It fits on the wand just fine and works great on my hard wood floors. It was also much cheaper than buying the Dyson attachment.

This is a very fine floor brush. I coupled it with a Shop-Vac brand metal wand, and it works wonderfully for the hardwood and vinyl flooring in our home. The brush has rollers that it rides on so that the bristles don't get crushed, a feature that I wasn't sure about at first, but now love. I would not hesitate to order another, should a need arise.

My vacuum does not have wide nozzle so I was looking for one. Unfortunately even Amazon does not have a large selection of affordable nozzles.This one works well and it is a good compliment to our brushes. We use it on hard wood floor.

It works okay after I removed the gimmicky wheels but not nearly as well as the stock floor attachment that came with my Rainbow.
