This vac is meant to be wall mounted however once mounted you can pull the vac out of the mount easily assuming that it is not full of water as a result of a wet cleanup. Being wall mounted suggests that the user will need a long hose and it does come with two that add up to 21'. One hose is a standard stiff cheap vac hose that all the others use. The second is a flexible and stretchy one (together they make up the 21'). For those that will want a long one piece hose similar to what they have at a carwash I suggest you look at Mr. Nozzle (here at Amazon) or go to your local pool supply store. This vac uses 1 1/4" hoses so make sure and buy the right hose and/or adapters to make it work. I've used mine for almost a year with no problems other than my need for a 25' one piece hose.Only issue: as of right now it looks like you have to go to Vacmaster for filters. You shouldn't need a new one if you gently clean it. If you have compressed air it is easy. (Amazon, it would be nice to be able to buy them here)

I was very excited to get this unit as I have been previously using a large clumsy 3.0HP (peak) shop vac on wheels. My garage floor space is limited and I really wanted something wall mounted. Two of the best additions I have ever made to my garage are over head air and power on retractable reels. I believe having a wall mounted vac with a long hose would be just as beneficial. Setup was super easy and I had the unit wall mounted with in a few minutes. It only requires one stud and three included screws and your all set. The hose mounted power switch was handy although it didn't always register the button push, sometimes it took 2-3 tries. All these features and great and the included tools are plentiful but the main issue is that that the vacuum isn't all that good at vacuuming. The unit has a good deal of suction if you block off part of the hose or put your hand over it. If you stick something heavy (ex. a small rock) into the hose it will suck it up all the way to the bucket. The problem is the unit does not move a lot of air. I looked all over trying to find the amount of CFM that this unit creates but I was unable to find any specs. If you don't move a lot of air the unit will not suck things up that aren't stuck directly under/in the hose. for instance I had some loss straw that unless I was right on top of the pieces they wouldn't budge. I even tried using the long hose the unit came with on my old shop vac. and it sucked everything as expected. Over all the unit is a good idea with poor execution. After some thorugh research on some of the online car detailing forums I ended up going with the http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00196S08S?ie=UTF8&tag=flickr093-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00196S08S Bissell Garage Pro</a> It is amazing!

I can't get over how amazing this shop-vac is. I love having it mounted to the wall and wrapping the hoses around the unit when it's not in use. Reminds me of those professional carwash places. There is plenty of attachments for this vacuum that already come with it and I really can't see why you would need anymore attachments. The also feel very durable. I don't think I will even use all of these different attachments. There is also different filters, one for dry and one for wet. They really give you a lot of stuff with this. It even has a nice long plug wire so you don't have to mount it right on top of an outlet or use extension cords. The remote on the handle is so cool. My only suggestion with the remote is that when you are not using the vac that you just turn the remote switch off. It seems sensitive to other signals. I came into the garage and it was on without me turning it on. That remote has and on/off switch. This easily has enough hose to go from one side of the garage to the other. The expandable hose is great. As for the power on this. It is so quiet that at first it gave me the illusion that it was weak because it's so quiet. I was always used to the really loud ear-peircing deafening sound from other shop-vacs. Boy was I wrong. This is one powerful vacuum. Very easy to use in the car, especially with the remote on the handle. So quiet and using the spring expanding hose it never gets in the way. It's like someone is right there with you holding the hose and pulling the slack so you don't trip over it.There's also a small little sliding panel on the handle that you can slide open a little so it allows a little less pressure on things like seat covers so you can easily vacuum back and forth without it constantly sucking too hard and sticking from suction. The larger straight attachments are great so you can vacuum the floor without having to bend over at all. I also love the larger hose. It's not that skinny little hose, it's nice and big but not heavy. Being mounted on the wall you don't have to wrestle with a vac on wheels, constantly having to push it or pull it, flipping the hose out of the way. Pulling a little to hard and tipping the vac over or pulling the hose out.But it would be nice to have an optional wheel deck just in case you needed to use it for one of those jobs where you have to pull it off the wall.I am completely satisfied with this vacuum, plus it looks great and it goes on the wall. Those are all the right things to show it off. It was very easy to get this approved by the wife. She loves the color, how it looks and how it works. This one is definately a cut about the rest.

Received this unit yesterday in large plain box. Was a little disapointed there as I would like to have received the manuafacturer's product box. No problem. Now for the product. Removing the vac & all it's parts was easy enough. I couldn't believe the number of attachments. I carefully inspected every detail on every item and was very impressed with the quality, design and simplicity of each, particularly the hoses! I had read in other reviews that one hose was "cheap"..."NOT SO". Both hoses are good quality and durably made. One is more rigid and the other was absolutely perfect in it's flexibility! I attached the more rigid one to the vac, and the more flexible one on the business end. This would make working with it a whole lot easier. I've had Craftsman before and the hoses were bulky and stiff. NOT THIS ONE! A+ on the hoses.(The only improvement I would make on the hoses is to have the locking feature at the point where the two hoses join, like at the vac end). So, all attached, I plugged in the long 20 ft. cord (also quality here too) and fired it up. I had read many pro & con reviews on this item before committing myself to trying it. Well, I'll address each "con" first: Noise level...no problem whatsoever. Was actually no louder than my Oreck upright. I had read some reviews that complained of a very high screeching sound when the full 21 feet of hose was used. I had no such problem. Power...even with the entire 21 feet of hose attached the power was great! Very strong. I placed it against my sweatshirt and it pulled it right in! I had read other reviews about it lacking suction power, well the only way I can see that happening is on the control nozzle there is a sliding plastic regulator which easily opens & closes simply with your thumb. It has a tendancy to slide open so if you're not aware of this, in the open position it would reduce the suction power. But fully closed the power was there, and then some! Then I switched over to the blower mode (very easy to do). Put both the wands together and let it go. It has power to spare. I pointed it at different items and even from across the room it was sending them flying. This vac is amazing. The final step...packed it up and gathered my tools, and headed out to the garage. On just one stud, with just three screws it was up. And the long power cord was a Godsend as my power outlet is where the garage door opener plugs in...right in the middle of the garage. Since I attached the vac to the rear wall, that 20 foot cord was perfect. Now for the "field test" on actual use. In the vac mode I ran it across the remnants of this past brutal winter's dirt, using the wide floor tool. It sucked up every grain of dirt and sand I went over. Handling it was a piece of cake since I attached the unit about foor feet off the ground, it helps keep the long hose very manageable. Now for what I think is a genius of a feature...The Remote Control! I don't know why, in the history of vac's no one ever thought about this before, but what a stroke of genius! It even comes with the battery already installed. Just a push of a button and it's on or off. Can't wait to clean the car with this feature! And what's more, you have the choice of using it in the traditional On-Off rocker switch mounted on the unit, or use the remote feature. Speaking of the rocker switch on the unit,...it is gigantic, light colored and highly visable (unlike the dark, almost invisible ones on other vacs. This may seem insignificant to some, but when you want to shut it off quick for some reason, you don't have to hunt for the switch). So you're covered two ways,...remote or standard. Packing up after use is easy enough with the tool caddy that attaches to the unit, and built in slots for the wands, etc. and the hoses conveniently wrap aroung the holder for storage. Attaching the vac body to the wall holder can be a bit tricky until you get the hang of it. You just have to "see what goes where" before you lock it into it's holder. No rocket science here. Comes with the standard dry filter, and a foam wet filter too. I can only say that Vacmaster actually thought this thing through before marketing it. They had to have given it real "field testing" first. Since I just got it, the only thing I can't endorse yet is it's longevity. Well, with spring-summer here it will be put to the test. I can already see how great this will work on blowing out the fall leaves that gather in the garage. That's it for now,...so for anyone looking for a quality made, well designed multi function wet/dry vac/blower, you can't go wrong with this one! Especially at this price! Oh, did I mention it comes with a two year manufacturer's warranty? Can't go wrong here!

got this for a birthday present from [...]. [...] delivered. very easy to set up and easy to use. remote on/off is very handy but some garage door openers will start it up. there is a neutral switch that you can set when you are not using. this eliminated the problem. good suction but i am concerned about finding additional tools. vacmaster does have a website but no online store. i will give them a call to see how available additional tools are. it needs an extra wide floor tool.

Ordered one afternoon received it next morning by 09:00 hand delivered.Great service. In manufacturing box not shipping box and packagedvery well. All parts present, manual easy to understand. Easy to puttogether. Chuckled at the "muffler", but It really works.Cranked it up and the utility nozzle (t-shaped) stuck to theterrazo so hard I had to take the wands apart to releasethe suction. Actually saw it pull dust bunnies from 2 feetaway up. Left the unit in the living room and could vacuumhalf the house without moving the unit.But. This was purchased for the shop so I am looking foranother vacmaster for the house as I do not want a wall mountin the house. Too ostentatious. It shall have pride of place in my woodworking shop replacingan elderly 5 HP from a well known name that never had thismuch suction from day one. AND much less footprint in the shopbecause you never have enough room in a shop no matterhow big it is. Oh yeah - the input and blower output fit mytablesaw and other dust collection hoses so I do not have to replace them.Well done Vacmaster!

Overall as a vacuum this is a decent product. My only complaint so far is that there is not enough storage space on board the vacuum or the wall mount to store all the attachments it comes with effectively. What's bizarre is that it comes with a tool bucket that can mount on either side of the vacuum, when what they should have done is just provide two buckets since there are two mounts available, one on either side which would have provided just about the right amount of space for storing the attachments. What's even more frustrating is that I can't find anywhere to order a second bucket, which in my opinion is essential to making this a completely wall mounted unit.

Bought this unit to put in closet in my sunroom to do fireplace clean up. This thing has great power, it's quiet, and works great. You cannot go wrong with this shop vac. Now I just need to find another piece of hose, need a longer hose

After one month of usage I have no complaints.Very well made. Really strong vacuum power.Easy to remove from wall and access to filter is easy also. I previously had a Shop-Vac wallmounted vac which was more like a toy compared to the Vacmaster. Remote switch is really useful.Blower use is ok but I would not purchase it for this feature as a major consideration. I seem tofind something else I like about it each time I use it.

I did a lot of research and saw a lot of unhappy reviewers who had purchased the Hoover and Bissel models. This unit was exactly what I was expecting and was cheaper then both of the other units. I wanted something for vacuuming out the cars and keeping garage dirt from being tracked into the house. It does exactly that. The manual does state that it shouldn't be used for fine powder (like drywall dust) without purchasing a separate filter.Mounting to the wall was easy and took less than 10 minutes.Nice unit - so far, so good!. If it keeps performing I will buy a second one to put in the basement.
