I had the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, and could still see white dog hair all over the carpet even after repeated vacuuming. Also, after an auto accident the vacuum was too heavy for me to maneuver and I needed something lighter. I did a great deal of research and was seriously considering the Dyson, however the Shark received equally positive reviews at a fraction of the cost. after my Shark arrived, I vacuumed with my Bissell, and then went over the area with the Shark. I was disgusted at how much dirt it picked up, but thrilled because I knew I had made a good choice.

I was skeptical of this vacuum because it is so inexpensive and because the brush roll looks small and unimpressive. I decided to give it a try because it has a 7 yr warranty which is so unusual for vacuum cleaners, and I figured I could return it if I was unhappy. Wow, it is amazing! I had just vacuumed my living room carpet with my old favorite Wind Tunnel, but this Shark pulled out so much dog hair (I was disgusted!) It was so easy to empty the dust bin, and your hands don't get dirty. Also the pet hair/power brush attachment is very strong. It comes with an extra long hose to attach to the one on the vacuum and a really nice brush attachment for hard floors. I have a cleaning business so have tried every vacuum imaginable. This vacuum is as close as you can get to a Dyson without the high price tag. I very highly recommend!

I would have given this vacuum 5 stars if it weren't for the continued problem with the hose. Suction on vacuum is great and easy to use with cleaning and emptying the bagless tank. Major problem I have with this is every time I use the vacuum hose I get smacked in the head with the vacuum or it slams into the wall... It recently dented my new hardwood floors! Poor manufacture design on how you are suppose to make sure the hose stays under the clip to keep it from falling over. How hard would it have to been to put a secure underneath to make sure it stayed put while using it. It never stays and the result is the vacuum falling over and hitting you! This could very easily become a law suit when it cracks me in the head and causes serious damage to me! It's on it's way back before that happens, can't Stand this happening every time I use it. Disappointed, because it is a great vacuum otherwise, with great suction.

After wasting enough money on a new vacuum that stopped performing within 2 months post purchase, I bit the bullet again and ordered this vacuum. It is quite the machine! As an allergy sufferer with 2 cats, I definitely feel my house is cleaner which I'm imagining has lead to better breathing. The cats are a bit peeved as I actually enjoy vacuuming again and would do a little every night if I could, simply to catch up. Constantly discovering corners which have turned a dull grey which this new vacuum makes clean again. All in all, two thumbs up. However, it's important to note that if you have old carpet as we do, and if you have a few loose strands, this will suck those right up too! I feel as if it will last quite a while. Oh important also is the fact that at first I was dropping the hoo haws and the cord went a bit nuts but one must remember the relationship you have with your vaccuum is quite taken for granted and it takes some time to get the hang of the new one. I'm happy to know this is in my closet!

I've had this vacuum for about a month or so now. It is great! I had bought a Bissell bagless from Wal-Mart earlier. It was a good one too, but emptying the dirt canister was just so much easier in the Shark. This is the first time I have had a bagless vacuum. One thing that I really like is the canister that you just pop off and push a button & empty it. So easy! I also really like the suction. I didn't know how bad my old vacuum was until I bought a new one. Of course, the Bissell was the one that sucked up so much, but I can see how much cleaner my carpet looks using the Shark. This is easier to maneuver than the Bissell and I like the ease of going from carpet to the tile floor in my kitchen. I also like the long wand or whatever you call it that you can get the cobwebs with. I used to have a Robotic vacuum and it was great while it worked, but it didn't have any tools. So that was frustrating. Plus it kept breaking. I am so glad Costco has such a good return policy. I got my Shark at Costco for $99. It was $129 and I got it at a time when they had a $30 off coupon, so I got a really good deal. But whatever you pay for it, it's worth it. Love it, love it love it.

This thing really sucks. No, really. I have two cats, and when I brought this thing home I was astounded at how much it picked up. I'd vacuumed about a day earlier, too. The carpet not only looked fantastic afterwards, it felt different. The roller brush attachment did wonders on my cat tree.The only downside that I can see is that this vacuum is heavy, a common flaw of most bagless vacs.

I have had 2 "pet hair" special heavy duty vacuums that cost a small fortune and still leave pet hair behind. I thought it was hopeless to find a light weight vacuum that would actually clean the carpet... I FOUND IT!! I had a housekeeper here for the first time and she brought this thing with her. I was shocked at how much cleaner the carpet was when she was done. I asked her if I could try using it and was amazed at how light weight this little but mighty unit actually is. I then took out my honking big one and vacuumed behind her and there was litterally nothing in the canister for the whole family room. I usually have to do at least 2 and sometimes 3 sweeps through the room to pick up all the dog hair (2 labs)! This was ONCE through and picked up more than the "big guns, special dog hair sucking, waste of money, units". I went out and bought one right away and I've had it for a month... still just LOVE it! It also has lots of hand tools that are easy to use. Ok, I'll stop but... I'm tellin ya... go for it... I bet you won't be disappointed!

If I had it to do over again, I would have bought a different vaccum. I had high hopes for this, but it just doesn't cut it. It doesn't work on hardwood floors like it states. It seems to just blow the dust around instead of actually picking it up. For carpeting, it works so so, but not great. I guess I really expected better from this vacuum!

We bought this vacuum to replace our Hoover Upright Bagless because the motor had stopped working for some reason. We had that vacuum for 3 years and overall I didn't like it because the belt always burned off and it was heavy and way too noisy even for a North American appliance.This Shark vacuum is almost half the weight of the hoover and is still a powerful sucker! And it doesn't temporarily deafen the user.Its very simple and easy to use and does a really good job cleaning. It picks up hair really well.The only thing that sucks is that if you buy it from a store (I got it from Canadian Tire) it doesn't come with all the accessories so no extended wand, no pet hair tool and no crevice tool. All we got was the brush accessory and the carpet cleaning accessory. I would've really liked the extended or crevice tool but oh well.
