I give this product a 3 star rating but in reality I would give it a 5 for price and shipping from company and about a 1.5 on how it works. Battery has a different fit than the OEM version and stays in the charger when I pull the vac out. I also have to make sure there is positive contact regularly as the connection is a bit dicey. Otherwise it works OK. I still have problems with the unit not staying on, but I think the issue is with the loose contact with the vac. All in all this battery is better than nothing and I wasn't willing to spend so much on the OEM version. I have only had the replacement battery for a short while, but if I don't get long life out of it, I will not purchase another.

Battery arrived quickly after purchase. Charged it up then put it in the DC16 and -- voila! -- just like new. Handheld vacuum sucked up everything on two floors of stairs without interruption. Battery is pricy, just as the vacuum is, but it's worth it.

Bought the battery in May of 2010. It worked great from the start. It just didn't last nearly as long as the Dyson battery.Now, I happen to have two Dyson's that we use, pretty much side by side. So think my test is pretty valid.Bought the original Dyson in 2005, and the Dyson battery lasted 5 years. Bought the second Dyson in 2008. Battery is still going strong, now in 2012.Bought this replacement battery in 2010, and it didn't outlast the 2-year old Dyson battery. Replacement battery is already dead, as of January 2012 (and was dying quickly in September 2011).Save yourself some money in the long run - buy the real thing. Not these cheap imitations.

This battery works better than the battery that came with the Dyson upon purchase. For those six minutes of operation it has more power & is performing better than ever.

Much less expensive than the Dyson factory battery and seems to work just fine. We've only been using it for a few months but have been very happy with it especially the money we saved!

Have been using this battery for a few months now and so far so good. I haven't timed how long it lasts or done any other in depth comparisons, but my original battery (after >5 years of use) was lasting less than 30 seconds and now I'm back to being able to vacuum what I want without worrying about the battery dying, so I'm happy. However, I did recently purchase a full size Dyson, so the little handheld doesn't get as much use as it used to...

We bought this in Sept. 2010. It worked great until now (Aug 2011). It no longer holds a charge. The vacuum works fine for about two minutes, then *poof*, the battery quits. If it were a Ni-Cad, I might understand, as we use our handheld on a daily basis. I cannot recommend this battery.

Short and to the point, it works reasonably well as a replacement part. The vacuum is used daily, and the battery lasted 10 months. Two replacement batteries over 2 years will end up costing a little less than a Dyson direct battery replacement. Since the price is good, we may use it again - unsure.

Even though the price is quite high; there's really no choice if you need a new Dyson battery and this is a generic battery! I have no complaints yet on the performance - it's working fine. As always, Amazon's delivery and service were excellent.
