Manufacturer Description:  Extra Cleaning Power with No Strings Attached This 2-in-1 vacuum operates with two different suction power modes. The 2-position switch lets you flip from high to low power and back again in an instant. The Ergorapido Ultra+ features a motorized brush roll that completely clean your tile, hard wood and other bare floors throughout your home. While it is ideal for bare floors, it does well on area rugs as well. The charging station allows easy storage place for the unit and the Ergorapido Ultra+ takes between 15 to 20 hours to completely recharge after fully discharging the battery. Other features include 12 volts of power, crevice and dusting brush tools that are stored in the charging stand, and Energy Star qualified battery charger. It weighs 5.3 pounds and has a 0.4 quart dust cup capacity.  Getting the Best Results• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. This vacuum cleaner creates suction and has a revolving brush roll. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts. • Place Ergorapido in the charging station. Always make sure that Ergorapido is turned off when placed in the charging station. The blue indicator lights will illuminate and always remain on when Ergorapido is docked properly in its charging station. It takes up to 24 hours to fully charge the batteries before the first use. When fully discharged, approximately 15-20 hours of charging is required for the battery to regain full capacity. Ergorapido should be left on charge when not being used. The adaptor may become warm during charging but this is normal. • Lift up the vacuum cleaning cover. Vacuum clean the dust container by placing the hose handle of another vacuum cleaner against the vacuum cleaning hole. Release the whole dust container by pushing the release button, remove the filters and empty the contents into a wastepaper basket. Return the filters and press back the dust container until it clicks into place. • Turn the Ergorapido on. When pushed upwards the vacuum operates in full power. When pushed downwards, it operates with intermediate power for longer periods of use.  The handle provides a good grip to maneuver the vacuum easily and can rest against the wall, without falling. Ok, so I needed a stick vac and I did the research. After several false starts, (Dirt devil, and hoover) I decided to try the electrolux ergorapido ultra.Electrolux Electrolux Ergorapido Ultra 2 In1 Stick And Hand Vac - EL1022A this stick vac has more power than the regular ergorapido and the battery charge lasts longer. I wanted a light weight vacuum that I could use in between regular vacuuming so that every time the dog and/or the parental units dragged in dirt, debris and now dried leaves from the garden, I wouldn't have to drag out the canister vacuum. Although the Ultra doesn't come in the fun colors that the other ergorapidos do, it is, as I said, more powerful and the charge lasts longer. It is slim, lightweight and QUIET. The other stick vacs that I tried were so loud on the tile floors that you needed ear protection. This little gem does exactly what I wanted it to do, pick up the dirt that is constantly being tracked into the kitchen and hall. The vac funtions very well on all the floors and rugs in the kitchen and hallway. The charge lasts for about 20 minutes at full power, which is more than enough time for the areas I use it in. It acutally covers the kitchen, breakfast area, utility room, hallway and powder room. It takes @ 14 hours to fully recharge, which is rather long, but OK since I mostly use it in the evening after dinner. It is very manuverable, the power head swivels almost like a dyson ball vac. What is really neat about this guy, is that it is a hand vac as well. I can't tell you how many times I've pulled the hand vac part out to vacuum up crumbs, plant debris, dirt, etc on tables and on plant stands. Then you just pop it back into the vacuum body and keep going. The vacuum comes with a little brush and a crevice tool for use with the hand vac. They are stored in the charging stand, which is not so convenient, but at least you know where they are when you need them. The charging stand is small and very easy to use, you just stand the vacuum on it. Emptying the cup is easy. You either pop open a trap door on the end of the hand unit, or pop the whole hand unit cup out and remove the filter by squeezing two tabs. Very easy to do and not a great deal of pressure needed. For a vaccum, this one is slim and elegant enough that if you had to store it somewhere where it would be seen it wouldn't be obtrusive. Would I replace my regular vacuum with this? NO! This is after all a glorified dust buster. It is not meant to take the place of a regular vacuum, but for quick pick ups in between regular vaccumings, I would rate this A+++. All in all, this is a great little stick vac that is efficient and easy for even the non-technophiles to put together and use. I would recommend it to my friends and family, and in fact have.

Loved this vacuum when I bought it. Sleek design, looks good, feels good (the handle isn't flimsy and the grip is comfortable) and it worked fine on my hard wood floors and few area rugs. The handheld was a great bonus especially to get on hardwood stairs. (The one draw back was that the battery dies after about 15-20 minutes) Once it reached it's ripe old age of six months the power was almost gone so that even when it was fully charged it was running like it was on empty. Using it with the upright stick (as opposed to just the handheld) picked up virtually nothing! Wish they would fix the battery-life issue as I've seen this complaint on several of their models. Makes it a waste of money. Now shopping for a new one.

Honestly, I try to avoid cleaning at all cost. With this stick vac I almost get excited when I see a dust bunny running around. Went for this on as compared to the 9.6V models that can be easily found in Bestbuy or Target due to complaints about battery life. With the 12V model I can sweep the entire house on a single battery charge. Does an excellent job on our hardwood floors. The brush isnt really strong enough to pick up stuff from the carpet. I still gave it 5 stars because it works perfect for what I bought it for ... hardwood floors. Didnt really expect it to work on carpet; would be unrealistic to expect a stick vac to replace a plug-in standard upright. Would buy this again in a heartbeat and will even give you a demonstration if you come over ;-)

I have had several stick vacuums in my lifetime but the Electrolux ergorapido is the best. I love the way it stays charged and that you can not over charge it. Some of the cheaper ones I have had seem to only last 6 months as the battery overcharges. I really like the charging station which comes with the Ergorapido. It is first class all the way...no worry about over charging. I love the fact that you have a handheld along with the stick vacuum. Just press the two buttons and the hand held pops right out so that you can use it on draperies and etc. Neither piece is loud...picks up just about anything. I use it mainly on my kitchen floor and on the back porch. I have had mine for 14 months and it still works as good as the day I bought it. I am very satisfied with it and even purchased one for my son for Christmas and would recommend this to anyone.They have several models but the one I have and like is the 12 volt...it has alot more power than most other stick vacuums which only are 9.6 volt.

I've had other broom vacs but this one is the best so far. Great design with swivel head that fits into smaller spaces easily. Battery lasts long enough to do some of my floors each day or the kitchen several times per day. It hasn't run out/down on me yet. It picks up small pieces of dried cat food my kitty leaves around her bowl. The trash cup/filter is easy to open, empty and clean. The hand vac is easy to remove and comes with two attachable tools tucked in the charger stand. When charging the charger light stays on continuously; after complete charge the light just blinks intermittently which is a nice feature. I highly recommend this nice Electrolux product.

I purchased this to use for simple everyday cleaning. Its terrible.The swiveling action is so loose, that its VERY difficult for this to clean simple rugs and carpet areas. It cannot maintain a straight line. I dont have thick rugs or even plush carpet, and I understand that it is meant mainly for hardwood or solid floors. Even with that understanding, I am rating this fairly. When you push, it wont go straight, when you pull back, it gets caught (flips) because the clearance on the back side is very low and wasnt designed with any sort of common cleaning sense. IF you get this, you will know what I mean.It takes a full 24 hours to charge. Its supposed to be able to perform for 20 minutes on a full charge. Good luck. Its so dissapointing. It will perform for about 10-12 minutes. After that, youre stuck with having to charge it overnight again. And its not even a good 10-12 minutes because youre keeping it straight and trying to make sure it doesent get caught on minimal obstructions half the time.On bare floors, it does a decent job but you have to go over the same area for dust, hair, and lint. Keep in mind the time limits and you realize how inefficient this is.I know it sounds like I have a personal vendetta, but I really dont. Its really under performing and was designed in a very inefficicient way. It looks good like a european import based on its design, but its really not worth the money. I will even go to say that even if this was half the price, i still would not conclude that this is a good product or even a value.

I bought the 9.6V unit 3 years ago. Then there was a recall on the battery. I sent the battery back and after more than a month of waiting to get the replacement I called Electrolux. They said they would send me a new unit. I got the replacement unit and to my surprise it was a newer vac. I charged it up and started to use it and to my surprise I found that this unit really did a great job on the wooden kitchen floor and on the low pile throw rugs. I wondered what the difference was and the unit they sent was with a 12V battery which makes all the difference in the world. I am really happy with this unit and would not recommend the 9.6V unit as I think it's a toy next to the 12V unit. The extra money is worth it.

good little product. lightweight, easy to handle. has good power and picks up well on non-carpet floors....though i like it for quick jobs on my carpeted stairs because it is not heavy and easily manueverable.battery life could be better but all in all, i'm happy with it

Found one for $99. The whole motor / battery is in the detachable hand unit, so it's better than most.Great for basic dust and small debris control. Not as powerful as a big AC canister machine, but great for 99% of things you find on wood floors. Does a pretty good job under beds, because it lays quite flat.A nicely designed power/accessory station, too. Has two power settings.

Everything about the Electrolux EL1022A Ergorapido Ultra Plus is great... except for the battery life and recharge time. We live in a 2500sq. ft. home with all hardwood floors. We received our unit in, and really liked the way it looked. Handled nicely, seems well constructed. Unfortunately, after the life of the battery is good for about 10-12 minutes. Hardly enough to do a couple rooms let alone the whole house. To make matters worse, the recharge time on the battery is 18 hours! So needless to say, this is going back.
