I purchased a Hoover "Tempo": [[ASIN:B0009ONZ8G Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum], and it needs belts periodically...'heard they're a bit of trouble to lay hands on locally, so I 'stocked-up' on Amazon.The product "Number" 40201160 is a bit confusing, and the description should be made to denote that product "Number" 40201160 is Hoover's product number for a PACKAGE OF TWO 38528-033 or 38528033, belts.Having received shipment, and confirming that these were the exact replacement item, I have to say that this is a 'no-brainer' with Amazon's offer for free shipping.

My Hoover was beginning to no longer pick up the hair and debris on the rug like it used to. I also could hear the agitator stall out on the rug. I bought this, received it quickly and installed it in 5 minutes. The vacuum is as good as new now. I could see that my old belt was warn through, this definitely fixed my problems.

I have a Hoover Tempo bagged & could not locate belts in retail stores. Here on Amazon this was the recommended belt so I ordered some. These have a very tight fit & require some strength to replace. I think the tight fit is what makes the pick up more powerful. A belt lasts about 3 months with regular use. Amazon has them at an excellent price with free shipping so it pays to stock up. Shipping is extremely fast, too.

I bought two packs of these after the belt broke on the my Hoover, they are Hoover OEM parts and not generic, so I'm happy with them and the on I installed works great. Glad I have these around just in case it breaks again.

I purchased these a while ago from amazon to have on hand, and just needed to replace my original belt on my wind tunnel. When I took the belt out of the package and compared it to the original belt, I thought huh, this original belt really stretched. But it turns out that these replacement belts are about 2 inch diameter to small. I stretched it and managed to get it on the machine but it broke on the first use of the vacuum. Do not buy these. I purchased two packs so I have three useless belts. Amazon is starting to sell bad products. They did a bait and switch with vacuum bags to, but that is a different review.

Unless your order comes in the original Hoover packaging, you may receive aftermarket belts which may or may not work on your vacuum. I ordered these belts and received 2 belts which came individually (not wrapped) with just an invoice in a mailing envelope. The belts themselves were marked "Hoover Belt 38528-033" in three horizontal lines on each belt. This was the correct part number for my vacuum, but the belts I received had virtually no stretch to them and I could not install them.I brought the belts and vacuum to a local vacuum cleaner store and the owner of the store told me these belts were dried out and had lost their elasticity (he called it "dry rot," which refers to the deterioration of rubber). The belts I purchased in person from the vacuum store ($4.99 for two) were marked with a trademark symbol "Hoover® Belt 38528-033" and also were marked "Assemble this side out," whereas the generic belts only had "Hoover Belt 38528-033" three times as noted above. The genuine Hoover belt was also thinner than the generic belt, which made it easier to stretch to fit on the vacuum.As you can read in some other reviews, people have sometimes had a problem with these belts breaking easily after they were installed. This may be why. For a couple of bucks difference, it might be worth it to buy these belts from a local store unless you can request when you place your Amazon order that the seller send you Hoover belts in their unopened original packaging.

i've used these with a Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum. and they break WAAAAY to easily. within 2 seconds of getting the agitator snagged on a sock or something, the belt will break.

These belts are the weak spot in the Hoover mechanism, so you should lay in a supply because the machine is worthless if one snaps (which can happen easily if you get something tangled in the brush while vacuuming)and there is no replacement on hand. I'd suggest buying in bulk. The price is right and the supplier responds quickly. I give the product four stars because the belts are inherently weak. (To be fair, if they were any more robust they would be impossible for normal people to install.) But I give this source five stars plus.

When I purchased my Hoover Windtunnel Max, I figured why not buy some extra bags, and a replacement belt. I'll be set for the next year or more, right? Well...maybe.As other reviewers have noted, despite the picture of the pre-packaged 2-pack; these belts arrive loose in the shipping mailer. Vacbelts.com does offer the following information on the packing slip:The belts are not in the retail packaging because they purchase these in bulk directly from the manufacturer. Also, it cuts down on waste with the elimination of unnecessary packaging. (I paraphrased their response.)As to the new belts being smaller than the old belt, Vacbelts.com goes on to say:The old belt has been stretched with use. It will be necessary for the new belt to be stretched to fit. This tight fit is necessary to provide the tension needed for the brush to turn properly. (Again, I paraphrased for the sake of brevity.)Their answer certainly sounds reasonable. And the number stamped on the belt matches what I ordered. Bottom line? The twin-pack image is misleading. And if the belts are after-market knock-offs, it's fraudulent. I guess time will tell if these are genuine Hoover belts. If they are, it was a great price. If they aren't, I'm only out a few dollars.
