I was impressed with other Shark products enough to buy this vacuum to replace an Oreck. First of all this vacuum weighs more than the Oreck and has a smaller head and is noisier, but to its credit, costs less. As another reviewer said, the true test of this vacuum is whether it will last more than 13 months. Well, it is just shy of 7 1/2 months and this vacuum just died. It was preceded by a very loud sound coming from the motor but was not the result of running over or trying to pick up any large objects. It happened with normal use. When calling the customer service, it was obvious I was talking to Asia. The person belabored the fact that I needed to be sure that the electricity was working in my house. He then informed me that I'd need to ship it insured, all at my expense to N.C., and then spend $16.99 to have it fixed despite its alleged 5 year warranty. Sorry, but this product just doesn't last with normal use and their warranty and customer service leave much to be desired. There will be no more Shark products in my household and my friends and family and Amazon will learn of the fact that I cannot recommend it or other Shark products.

Our last vacuum cleaner gave up the ghost a while ago - we picked up this one as a replacement at the big "C" store yesterday and gave it a test run around the apartment.Pros:- Small head size allows it to get into tight spaces easily.- Lightweight, easy to pick up and maneuver as required.- Good suction, didn't leave anything obvious on the floor.- Comes with a number of different attachments.- Easy to empty (but small dust chamber).Caveats:- Assembly is a bit awkward. The hose and electrical cable didn't play well together.- We only used this on carpeted floors, so your mileage may vary with hardwood or tile.All together, I'm pretty pleased with the purchase and have no intention of returning it.

This vacuum has great suction and I am very, very pleased with the pet tool. It makes the stairs SO much easier to clean. This vacuum is SO much better than the Hoover I was using. I love the fact that I can use this vacuum on my hard floors. I love how you can turn off the brush. It makes it so much easier. That way I only need one vacuum instead of two. I can't say enough good things about this vacuum. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this vacuum!!!

We purchased the lift away several days ago and so far we love it. Our old vacuum hadn't completely gone out yet but would smell hot while using it, after one use with the shark I was amazed at what our old vacuum was leaving behind.Pros1:great suction2:easy to switch to cannister mode and back3:minimum mess when emptying dust bin4:much quieter than my old vacuum(Bissell powerforce bagless)5:easily sucks up dogfoodCons1:would be nice if the hose was stretchier when using the wand2:having two floor nozzles means one more thing to store3:also have to store the turbo brushWhile the infomercial makes it seem like dumping the dust bin is completely without mess, that's not entirely true. While it is less messy than my Bissell, when you tap the cannister the outside still gets a little dusty. I definitely recommend this vacuum.

I bought this vacuum at Walmart in August 2011 and liked it fairly well. It didn't seem to pick up quite as much stuff as Hoovers I've had, and didn't corner as well, but then Hoovers don't last very long either. Unfortunately, the shark went belly up in March 2012, overheated, smelled terrible, and lost suction.The retailer wouldn't help me so I called Euro-Pro customer service--with some trepidation because of the bad reviews. I wasn't thrilled that they made me send back the vacuum (with a prepaid UPS label, true, but I'd thrown away the box and had to find another to ship it in) plus a 24.95 check for shipping. The very friendly CS person said since the vacuum was still under warranty the company would either fix it or send me a replacement.The best case I was expecting was to be sent a refurb, worst my old vac patched together with duct tape. I also expected to wait a LONG time for anything at all. So I was surprised and pleased to be sent a BRAND NEW upgraded model (the one with pet tools) within just a couple of weeks.The most the NV22LWM would have rated with me would be 3 stars, maybe even 2, but because of the excellent customer service I'm knocking off only one star. I hope the new vac is a champ, but Euro-Pro's customer service definitely is.

We recently bought a new house and I brought my dirt devil vaccuum that I have always used at my apartment but it wouldn't pick up anything on this carpet. I purchased this for the reason of it being light weight and never losing suction, I was thinking this is not going to clean a 2300 square foot home with two dogs and 4 girls with long hair everywhere. Well I could not believe the suction and cleaning power of this product, I changed the cylinder 4 times because it was full of dirt and hair and it was amazing. Its light and quiet and I totally am in love with this product. It is really an awesome vaccuum and I am saying that for anyone that has hair and grass and dirt coming in the house with animals and kids. Buy it and you wont be disappointed, it is so amazing......

I want to start this off by saying this vacuum is gives you about 110% of its value. I was really kinda shaky on whether or not to get this one or a more expensive vacuum. I read a LOT of reviews both good and bad, but the one thing that ALL of the bad reviews left out was the value. So I went to costco and bought one (they have an awesome return policy). This vacuum had more suction power then the electrolux that I had spent almost triple the money on 3 years ago when it was NEW! I cant tell you whether it beats the dyson or not, what I can tell you is, im not sure what else the dyson could do that the shark doesnt! It worked great, I have a large retired greyhound who sheds alot (its summer) and it picked up almost every tiny hair! The attachments work great, the vacuum is light weight works just awesome. My house has never been this clean in the whole time I have lived here!!! I am willing to bet for the money their isnt a single vacuum that comes even close to the cleaning power. So for every negative review you read just keep in mind that almost all of those reviews they then decided to turn around and spend 2 to 3 times the money the "better vacuum".
