We did not think that we could find bags for the old dirt devil because the last bag was thown out before a number could be found. These bags worked great in the 1996 vintage dirt devil.

Over the years, I have had many vacuums that took bags for dust and dirt collection. Now most vacuums have dust cups. My little hand-held Dirt Devil Vac still is going strong...and I insist on buying genuine Dirt Devil Bags. They fit properly and no cloud of dust, as with the knock-off brands....yes, I did try that once. Live and Learn. Someday when this one wears out, I will purchase the Dirt Devil hand-held with the dust cup...but for now...it's still going strong...and I always buy the Dirt Devil Bags.

If you have a handheld Dirt Devil vac, these bags are really the only good option. And, they are hard to find at Target, Wal-Mart and the grocery stores. I'm not sure why they are so difficult to find in Atlanta, but I had to resort to Amazon.com and pay shipping. It's worth it, as they fit perfectly.

I had been using the same bagfor a long time and would take it off, empty it and put it back on. Finally, the bag broke andthey are hard to find.I found them on Amazon.Com and was back in business.

I went to the Dirt Devil website and it recommended these bags for my vacuum. I had forgotten what the "exhaust" looked like and didn't feel like pulling the cloth bag off to see because it's about 1/4 full of dust and cat hair. So I trusted the manual on the manufacturer's website and ordered a ten-pack of these bags. The day they arrived, I pulled the cloth bag off to install one of these bags. I discovered that the vacuum doesn't have the bag adapter pictured in the manual. I looked for it on several websites and couldn't find it available for sale.I'm not really sure what I can say about a paper vacuum bag. I haven't opened the package yet but they certainly look to be the right size and shape for this vacuum. And they'd be a lot more convenient than the old "open" paper bags that used to be made for this vacuum (the cloth bag held them in place). So the bags get a five-star rating from me - even though I haven't actually used them - but I'm docking a star because the manufacturer doesn't have the correct manual on their site and can't be bothered to stock the part to make them work on the vacuum. Yes, my vacuum is 20 years old (and the vacuum I had before that was 40 years old - a hand-me-down from my grandmother). I'm sure there are thousands of these little Devils out there, just like mine, sucking up dirt like when they were new...If anybody from Royal/Dirt Devil happens to read this, it's a shame that you've stopped stocking the vacuum bag adapter for the model 103. The products you made in the USA are of excellent quality and it should be no surprise that people with twenty-year-old vacuums might still need parts. You still have fans and screws available (probably because they're used in current-production models) but not the adapters? I'm going to a local vacuum sales/repair shop next week to see what we can put together but if anyone has (or sees) the correct part (it's simply called a "Vacuum Bag Adapter") please comment on this review with contact/retailer info. Thanks!
